Picture waking up to birdsong, the scent of wild rosemary drifting through open shutters, and a sliver of deep blue Mediterranean sea catching the morning light on the horizon. This four-bedroom country house for long-term rental, set just minutes from the charming village of Santanyí in southeastern Mallorca, delivers that rare combination of authentic island living and genuine comfort.

Spanning 195 m² across a main house and several outbuildings, the property is laid out with a generosity of space that immediately puts you at ease. Whether you’re relocating with family, settling into the southeast for the long term, or simply looking for a comfortable year-round home base from which to enjoy the best of southeastern Mallorca, this finca-style retreat has the space and flexibility to make it work.

Inside the Home

Step through the front door and the living-dining room with an open fireplace draws you in straight away. Warm, characterful, and central to the home’s layout, this space flows naturally toward the independent kitchen — stocked and ready for meals made with produce picked up at Santanyí’s famous weekly market — and to a single bedroom that works equally well as a guest room, a home office, or a quiet reading retreat. A generous double bedroom also sits on this floor, with natural light and garden views.

Upstairs, three additional double bedrooms — all exterior-facing for maximum light and cross-ventilation — share a full bathroom. The orientation of these rooms captures the sea breezes that roll in from the Mediterranean during summer, keeping things naturally cool without the need to reach for the air conditioning.

Outdoor Living at Its Best

The real magic of this property unfolds outside. A large covered terrace bridges the gap between the main house and the pool, creating a sheltered outdoor living room that works all year round. In July, it’s your shade haven during the hottest part of the afternoon; in November, it’s the spot for a long lunch with a glass of local wine while the rest of the island winds down. The built-in barbecue makes al fresco dining effortless.

The pool itself sits within a garden landscaped with Mediterranean planting, offering pockets of sun and shade throughout the day. And those sea views — framed by pine trees and the gently rolling Mallorcan countryside — are the kind of backdrop that never gets old.

Additional practical features include a laundry room, a storage room for bikes, beach gear, or sports equipment, and full electrical supply. The property is rented unfurnished, ready for you to make it your own.

The Best of Southeastern Mallorca on Your Doorstep

Santanyí is one of Mallorca’s most beloved villages — unhurried, genuinely local, and beautifully preserved. The twice-weekly market (Wednesdays and Saturdays) in the main square is a fixture for residents and visitors alike, offering local cheeses, olive oil, fresh produce, handmade crafts, and flowers. The restaurants and cafés surrounding the square range from hearty traditional Mallorcan cooking to creative contemporary cuisine.

The coastline nearby is nothing short of spectacular. Cala Figuera, with its working fishing harbor and turquoise waters, is one of the most photogenic spots on the island. Cala Santanyí and Cala Llombards offer clear, calm waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling, while Cala en Tugores and the dramatic sea arch at Es Pontàs reward those willing to explore a little further.

For golf, Vall d’Or and Canyamel are both within half an hour’s drive. Palma’s historic center — with its cathedral, Old Town boutiques, and restaurant scene — is roughly 45 minutes away by highway.

Ready to experience this corner of Mallorca for yourself?
