There’s a certain rhythm to life in Colonia de Sant Jordi that’s hard to find anywhere else in Mallorca. A genuine fishing village on the southeastern coast where the sea is never more than a short walk away, where mornings smell of salt air and fresh coffee, and where everyday life feels unhurried and real. This duplex apartment for rent, located right in the heart of the village, is a compelling opportunity to put down roots in one of the most authentic and naturally beautiful corners of the island.

At approximately 45 square meters, the apartment makes an excellent case for smart design over sheer size. The two-level layout naturally divides the living and sleeping areas across separate floors — a simple but highly effective solution that brings a sense of order, privacy, and spaciousness that single-floor apartments of similar size rarely achieve.

A Thoughtful, Functional Floor Plan

The upper level holds the main living space: an open-plan living and dining area with an integrated kitchen. It’s a layout that works seamlessly for daily life — everything within easy reach, no unnecessary corridors, just a clean and connected space that flows naturally from the moment you walk in. Light fills the room comfortably, and the overall feel is warm and practical.

From the upper level, you step directly onto the private terrace — arguably the apartment’s standout feature. Whether you’re having your morning coffee, eating dinner under the evening breeze, or simply sitting back with a book on a quiet afternoon, the terrace gives the apartment an outdoor dimension that feels essential in a village this close to the sea.

The lower level is dedicated to the private quarters, giving residents a clear separation between the social and rest areas of the home. It’s a dynamic that makes this apartment feel significantly more versatile and livable than its square footage might initially suggest.

Comfortable Year-Round Living

The apartment comes equipped with both air conditioning and heating, making it a genuinely comfortable home in every season. Summers in Colonia de Sant Jordi are warm and sunny, while winters along the southern Mallorcan coast are mild and luminous — the kind of off-season that reminds you why people choose to stay rather than leave. Having full climate control means this apartment works just as well for an extended stay as it does for longer-term residents.

The apartment is offered unfurnished, giving tenants complete freedom to make the space their own from day one — choosing furniture, textures, and layout to suit their personal style.

The Colonia de Sant Jordi Lifestyle

Living here means waking up a short walk from some of the most beautiful beaches in the entire Mediterranean. Es Trenc, the crown jewel of southern Mallorca, stretches for over a mile of unspoiled white sand and impossibly turquoise water. Ses Covetes and the coves closest to the village add variety, offering quieter spots for a morning swim or a lazy afternoon in the sun.

The village itself has a genuinely local dining scene — fresh fish served at harbor-side terraces, simple and honest food that reflects the character of the place. The port is a destination in its own right, especially at sunset, when the light over the Cabrera Archipelago turns the sky shades of orange and rose that feel almost cinematic.

Speaking of Cabrera: daily boat excursions depart from the village harbor to the Cabrera National Park, one of the most pristine protected marine environments in the Western Mediterranean. It’s the kind of experience you’ll want to repeat every season.

For day-to-day needs, the village has supermarkets, pharmacies, and cafés. The nearby town of Campos is about fifteen minutes by car and offers a wider range of shops and services. Santanyí, with its vibrant Saturday market and beautifully preserved old town, is well worth the short drive.

If you’d like to visit the apartment and experience Colonia de Sant Jordi for yourself, the team at Villas y Fincas Mallorca would love to show you around.
