Some homes are described with a list of square metres and rooms, and others you simply feel the moment you cross the threshold. This refurbished apartment for rent in Campos, right in the town centre of one of the most authentic villages in the southeast of Mallorca, clearly belongs to the second kind: a home that has been renovated without losing an ounce of the soul of timeless Mallorcan architecture.

The first thing that wins you over is its character. The exposed stone walls, the wood-beamed ceilings —some whitewashed, others in natural timber— and the terracotta tile floors create a warm, serene atmosphere full of personality, impossible to replicate in a new build. It is the kind of space where the Mediterranean light filters in through the wooden shutters and every corner tells a story.

The home sits on a first floor and offers 75 sqm that are perfectly laid out. The living-dining room is the heart of the house: a welcoming space presided over by a wood-burning stove that not only provides warmth in the winter months but also becomes the home’s natural gathering point. The combination of stone, the timber ceiling and the terracotta floor gives it the feel of a retreat that invites you to stay.

The kitchen, in a genuinely rustic Mallorcan style, keeps its tiled countertop finished with hand-painted tiles in blue and ochre tones, with a gas hob and a stainless-steel extractor hood beneath the beamed ceiling. It is a charming kitchen, practical and bright, with a wooden window to the outside.

The sleeping area is arranged into two bedrooms, which keep the same noble materials as the rest of the house —the terracotta floor, the walls and the beamed ceilings— and is completed by a bathroom. The home is reached via a characterful stone staircase that climbs from the street up to the living room, a charming detail that hints at the character of the house. The home also has a terrace, that outdoor space so prized in the centre of a village, ideal for breakfast in the sun or dinner in summer.

In terms of comfort, the house has hot/cold air conditioning, ensuring a pleasant temperature in both summer and winter. The home is rented unfurnished, ready for each tenant to personalise and make their own.

Living in Campos

Campos is one of those inland villages that has managed to preserve its Mallorcan essence: quiet streets, stone houses, village life and an unhurried pace that wins over anyone seeking authenticity. Its town centre brings together all the everyday services —supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries, schools and a health centre— and a surprisingly good dining scene, with names such as Ca’n Calent, Es Figueral and S’Estret, and even the Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant Kairiku, inside the Sa Creu Nova Art Hotel & Spa.

The weekly market, on Thursday and Saturday mornings, is a must: fresh produce from local farmers, plants, clothing and the lively atmosphere of a real Mallorcan village.

And best of all: within a few minutes by car you can reach some of the best beaches on the island. Sa Ràpita and Ses Covetes are about ten minutes away and connect with the spectacular Es Trenc, the most famous unspoilt sandy beach in Mallorca, some fifteen minutes away. The Colònia de Sant Jordi, with its harbour and seafront restaurants, is around twenty minutes away. Palma Airport is about twenty-five minutes away via the Ma-19 motorway.

For anyone looking for a refurbished apartment for rent in Campos that combines the character of timeless Mallorca with the comfort of a recent renovation and an unbeatable location in the heart of the southeast, this home is an opportunity rarely found on the market.
